Travel & Transportation

ABQ International Sunport (ABQ)

The Albuquerque International Sunport services more than six million travelers per year. As the state’s largest commercial airport, the Sunport serves as the gateway to the diverse cultures, rich history, and breathtaking landscapes that are New Mexico.

Airlines: Southwest Airlines has the most flights daily to and from ABQ. Sign up for their weekly Click ‘N Save email and watch specials!

Southwest Airlines provides a 5-10% discount off their lowest prices for groups of 10 or more leaving from the same location. All itineraries in the block must depart and return on the same flight. To receive this discount, contact Southwest Airlines at 800-433-5360.

Other airlines that offer flights to and from ABQ include: Alaska, Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, and United.

Santa Fe (SAF)
Santa Fe Regional Airport offers daily commercial flights that connect to and from anywhere in the world. With American Eagle and United Express making flights daily, getting to “The City Different” is easier than ever.

Non-stop service from Dallas/Ft. Worth and Phoenix is offered by American Airlines. Non-stop service from Denver is offered on United. Please note: Flights to Santa Fe tend to be more expensive than flights to ABQ – watch for specials!

You’ve got a variety of options!
Sandia Shuttle Express and RoadRunner Shuttle provide roundtrip transportation between ABQ and Santa Fe.
NM Rail Runner Express: $10 each way. Travel between the Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) and the New Mexico Rail Runner Express is fast and convenient with public transit options. Please note: the train schedule is limited. Download the Rail Runner Airport Connections brochure.
Car Rental: Santa Fe is about an hour drive from ABQ. Reserve your car in advance for best rates. It is often difficult to find street parking on the Santa Fe Plaza. You won’t need a car during motion so one of the other transportation options might be a better choice.

It is often difficult to find street parking on the Santa Fe Plaza. The motion hotel venue offers complimentary parking for hotel guests. Alternatively, you can park at the Santa Fe Convention Center’s underground parking for approximately $10/day (no overnights).

The Santa Fe Pick-Up shuttle service is a great way for train passengers to get around once they step off the Rail Runner Express at the Santa Fe Depot or for others who want a fast, free way to get around downtown, Museum Hill and Canyon Road.

We’ve provided a downloadable route map below to give you show you some ways the Santa Fe Pickup can help you get around while you’re at motion.

motion takes place at The New Mexico History Museum Auditorium located at 113 Lincoln Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87501 (view map). Some of our evening events take place at The Railyard – approximately one mile from the motion venue. It’s an enjoyable 20-25 minute walk or a short 6-minute drive. But if you drive – you’ll have to park. The choice is yours!

We will be providing transportation to and from Meow Wolf for the motion finale after party, on Thursday, June 7. Check the motion app for details and schedule.

Please keep in mind that covering the costs associated with some special services such as hiring or providing sign language interpreters would result in an undue burden on our business, and typically the associated cost would prevent motion from being held. We recommend deaf and hard-of-hearing participants bring their own interpreter. There is no charge for the interpreter to attend.
